An Awareness Event on Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, and Societal Impact Was Held
An awareness event titled “Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, and Societal Impact” was organized by Ege KUŞGÖZ, a student in the Banking and Insurance Program at Hitit University's Vocational School of Social Sciences, under the leadership of the Sustainability, Social Responsibility, and Professional Ethics Student Club and as part of the Social Responsibility and Professional Ethics course. Held on May 14, 2026, at Çorum Sıklık Nature Park, the event provided participants with opportunities for social interaction and to learn about artificial intelligence and digitalization, two of the most important areas of technological transformation today. Lecturers Dr. Sema POYRAZ CAN and Tuğba GÜLEN from our program also participated in the event.
Under the theme “A Break in Nature with the Digital World: For a Sustainable Future,” the event addressed the effects of technological developments on individuals, institutions, and society. The educational section of the program evaluated the transformations brought about by the digitalization process in many areas, from daily life to the business world, from education to public services; participants were given comprehensive information about the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence applications and the ethical, social, and economic dimensions they bring with them.
During the presentation, the effects of artificial intelligence technologies on working life, decision-making processes, data security, education systems, and social relations were explained through examples. In addition, attention was drawn to the digital literacy skills that individuals should possess in the digital transformation process, information security awareness, and the conscious use of technology. While participants learned about the future uses of artificial intelligence and its possible effects on social life, they also had the opportunity to share their views and evaluations on the subject.
The event, held in a natural environment, supported theoretical knowledge with social interaction and contributed to integrating students' academic learning with field experience. The program, held as part of a picnic, helped strengthen communication and cooperation among participants while also raising awareness of the relationship between environmental consciousness, sustainable living, and technology.
